82% think government should reduce gap between rich and poor

The Guardian, reporting on a new Guardian/ICM poll said:
There is overwhelming support for the view that the government should "take active steps to reduce the gap between rich and poor". Eighty-two per cent of those polled agreed with that view, and only 15% did not.
[ICM interviewed a random sample of 1,004 adults aged 18+ by telephone between 13 and 15 March 2009.]
