Cabinet Office Strategy Unit Seminar (link to audio)

In the first of the Cabinet Strategy Unit's new autumn programme of seminars, Richard
Wilkinson, Emeritus Professor of Social Epidemiology at the University
of Nottingham, presented on the research findings from his most recent
book. The Spirit Level: Why More Equal Societies Almost Always Do Better
(with Kate Pickett) examines why societies with more equal distribution
of incomes have better health outcomes and fewer social problems than
ones in which the gap between the richest and poorest parts of society
are greater.
Slides used in Professor Wilkinson's talk, together with a recording of
the presentation and response from Mark Davies, Director of Health
Inequalities and Partnership at the Department of Health, are available here.
