Submitted by Kathryn Busby on 5 March 2010
The Spirit Level by Richard Wilkinson and Kate Pickett has been shortlisted for the Bristol Festival of Ideas second annual book prize.
Currently one of the largest book prizes in the UK, the award will be
given to the book, first published in 2009, which presents new,
important and challenging ideas, and which is engaging, accessible and
rigorously argued. A final shortlist of six books has now been
revealed, and the winner of this year’s prize will be announced live at
a special Book Prize Awards Ceremony as part of our May Festival.
