Ed gets it...

Ed Miliband today stated on Radio 4's Today programme that he would make it a "central aim" to tackle the gap between rich and poor if he was elected Labour leader, noting the benefits accruing to more equal societies around the world.

This is excellent news and we look forward to hearing the other Labour leadership candidates - and all the other political parties - continue to prioritise this issue. Only by significantly narrowing the gap between rich and poor will we make real social and environmental progress in the twenty-first century. Addressing income inequality is The Big Lever that now has to be pulled. No more tinkering!
