We think the best response you can make to the critics is to join The Equality Trust!

Polls show that 70% - 80% of people in the UK believe the gap between rich and poor is too large. We want to give them a voice.

Help us by becoming a Supporter today.

A majority as large as 70% - 80% must, by definition, extend across the social and political spectrum. Reducing inequality is no longer simply a left-wing project concerned with improving the conditions of the poorer sections of our society. Compelling evidence shows that the vast majority would benefit from a more equal UK.

That is why politicians of all parties signed our Equality Pledge before the election.

However, we know that political change will only happen if social pressure is applied – and to create that social pressure we need the egalitarian majority to stand up and be counted, to speak out and to take action.

We need a large and vocal social movement in favour of greater equality if we are ever to get the change we want to see.
 
We have made an excellent start in the past 18 months. Greater income equality is firmly back on the agenda, but we need to move to the next stage and apply mounting pressure on the politicians and policy-makers.  

Help us do just that by joining today, either as a Supporter or as a member of one of our local groups (or both!) If there is no group in your area, why not start one?  We will help you get things going.

Change was never achieved by gift from politicians. It has to be wrenched from them by public demand.
