We are pleased to report that 75 MPs in the new parliament are signed up to our Equality Pledge, as follows:

 

11 Conservative MPs

18 Liberal Democrat MPs (including two Cabinet Ministers; and an Equality Minister)

1 Green MP

45 Labour MPs

 

Forty of these MPs are from the greater London area and a special mention should go to our London group for their hard work on getting candidates signed up before the election.

We now have an excellent base of elected representatives to work with and we will now go forward with our supporters and our sister campaign, One Society, to ensure that these MPs follow up on their pledge and seek effective ways to tackle income inequality. We will also be contacting those candidates who signed the pledge but were not elected to discuss ways they can help us maintain the push for a more equal society.
