COVID-19 research appeal

This year, we are asking for your support to secure dedicated Covid-19 research capacity in order to capture the impact of coronavirus on inequality: particularly on those individuals and communities already struggling with hardship and exclusion.

There are many reviews and reports into various aspects of the COVID19 crisis and we know that inequality and the impacts of the pandemic are inextricably linked.

This is why we have launched this fundraising appeal to enable us to conduct and bring together research, centering the voices of young people and those with lived experience of intersecting inequalities - highlighting the role that socio-economic inequality has played in this crisis. More importantly, we need to identify how this country can respond to a future crisis, or the next wave of this one, in ways that do not deepen or further embed pre-existing inequalities.

We have already secured the first £10,000, thanks to the generosity of two of our supporters, Catherine Graham-Harrison and Nicholas Warren who have made a substantial donation, part of which is being used to start this work.

We know that the country is facing an uncertain financial future, and that there are currently many calls on your generosity. Whether you can donate £5 instead of getting coffee twice a week, £50 of saved commuting costs or £250 for a summer break that didn't work out - all contributions to this appeal are hugely appreciated.

Please also share the fundraiser widely. We couldn't do what we do without you.
