Due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, many of the #EqualPay50 regional conferences are being rescheduled for later in the year or hosted as digital events. If you have a question about a specific conference please contact frankie.galvin@equalitytrust.org.uk
Next conference to take place: Thursday 28th January, Online, University of Birmingham,The long road to workplace equality: International perspectives on gender wage gaps & progressive change.
As part of our campaign to make equal pay an issue in advance of the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Equal Pay Act, we are working with a number of universities to run equal pay seminars.
While the main focus is on unlawful, unequal gender pay, there are a number of other issues that are being covered, this includes campus-based campaigns for the Real Living Wage and issues related to the ethnicity pay gap. While these are being hosted at a number of universities, they are not meant to be purely academic events, but to involve practitioners and are designed to explore what needs to be done to achieve significant progress on equal pay. So far we have secured support from employers and trade unions to explore the issues.
