As part of our campaign to make Equal Pay an issue in advance of next year's 50th anniversary of the passage of the Equal Pay Act, we are working with a number of Universities to run Equal Pay seminars.
While the main focus is on unlawful, unequal gender pay, there are a number of other issues that are being covered, this includes campus-based campaigns for the Real Living Wage and issues related to the ‘ethnic pay gap’. While these are being hosted at a number of Universities they are not meant to be purely academic events, but to involve practitioners and are designed to explore what needs to be done to achieve significant progress on equal pay. So far we have secured support from employers and trade union to explore the issues.
So far there are four confirmed dates:
04-Nov-19 Queen Mary College, University of London (see here for more details)
09-Dec-19 Leeds University (see here for draft conference programme)
08-Apr-20 Liverpool University
05-May-20 Northumbria University
The following Universities have also expressed interest in hosting an event: Bedfordshire, Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and Nottingham Trent.
If you would like to know more or are interested in hosting an event, email firstname.lastname@example.org
