The Equality Trust is currently recruiting a number of trustees. Are you or is someone you know passionate about tackling inequality?
About The Equality Trust
This is an exciting time to join The Equality Trust (TET) as we are working on several projects tackling different aspects of socio-economic inequality including focusing on fairness indicators in the FTSE 100, bolstering our work focused on reducing inequality in London and increasing our involvement in the global Fight Inequality Alliance. We are the only organisation solely focused on tackling socio-economic inequality working in the UK.
What do we need?
We are looking for people who are passionate about the aims of TET and keen to contribute to our work and who also have a strong understanding of inequality issues. To balance the skills and knowledge on our board, we would welcome applications from people with experience in the private sector, communications and marketing (including digital), and fundraising.
We are committed to addressing the under-representation of people with protected characteristics in The Equality Trust and in charity governance roles in the wider voluntary sector. Therefore we will prioritise applications from ethnic minorities, disabled people, LGBT people and young people, as a positive action initiative under the Equality Act 2010.
What is the board's job?
The Board of Trustees ensures that The Equality Trust has excellent governance and that we are working strategically in order to fulfill our charitable objectives. Trustees will also support and stretch staff, develop and unite on strategy, steward the organisation's finances and to look after its future.
Being a trustee is unpaid, but you will get a great experience of supporting The Equality Trust to grow the movement to tackle inequalities in the UK, and beyond, as we work towards a more equal society where we can all flourish.
Please download the full details if you are interested in applying - applications must arrive by 9am on the 9th September.
Please email us if you are interested in a trustee role and would like to discuss this with someone.
