We are currently seeking to appoint new trustees to our board.
This is an exciting time to join The Equality Trust (TET) as we embark on several projects tackling different aspects of socio-economic inequality including focusing on fairness indicators in the FTSE 100, bolstering our work focused on reducing inequality in London and increasing our involvement in the global Fight Inequality Alliance. We are the only organisation solely focused on tackling inequality working in the UK.
The qualities we seek in all of our trustees are:
- Passionate about the aims of TET and keen to contribute to our work
- Have a strong understanding of inequality issues
- Understand the role of a trustee; to lead the organisation, to support and stretch staff, to unite on its strategy, to steward the assets and to look after its future
- Willing and able to take on trustee and company director responsibilities for an initial three year term
We are committed to addressing the under-representation of people with protected characteristics in The Equality Trust and in charity governance roles in the wider voluntary sector. Therefore we will prioritise applications from ethnic minorities, disabled people, LGBT people and young people, as a positive action initiative under the Equality Act 2010. We are also interested in receiving applications from people with experience in the private sector, communications and marketing (including digital), and fundraising.
